One of the reasons coin collectors are drawn to the Czech Lion series is that there are many weights to choose from when making your purchase. If you want a heavier coin with a larger diameter, then the 10 oz version of the Czech Lion might be for you. These stunning coins are crafted with remarkable precision at the Czech Mint. The series, which started in 2017, is now in its 6th release.

The lion has been a crucial figure in the history of the Czech Republic. A symbol of power and sovereignty, the lion initially appeared on the countrys coat of arms in the 12th century. This was done in recognition of the courage and strength of King Vladislaus II. Originally the lion had one tail, and some historians suspect the second tail was added after Otakar I helped the country in their defeat of the Saxons.

  • 6th release in the Czech Lion collection!
  • Limited mintage of just 1,000 coins!
  • Contains 10 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • The face value of 25 Dollars is fully backed by the government of Niue.
  • Queen Elizabeth and a heraldic eagle motif appear on the obverse.
  • A crowned lion is seen in the reverse design.

The obverse of 2022 Niue Czech Lion Silver Coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II. This 1998 effigy was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, who won a competition for the 4th generation design of the Queen to be used for coinage. Around this portrait is a shield and a heraldic eagle motif as a nod to the Czech national arms. Youll see inscriptions that read NIUE ISLAND, 25 DOLLARS, 2022, ELIZABETH II.

On the reverse field of the 2022 Czech Lion 10 oz Silver Coin is a lion. This direct-angle portrait captures the heraldic beast in stunning, almost life-like detail. On its head, you will find the Crown of Saint Wenceslas, an important Czech artifact and part of the Bohemian Crown Jewels. Three leaves from the Linden tree are shown on either side of the lion, and inscriptions read CESKA REPUBLIKA 10 OZ AG .999.
