2023 Burundi Year of the Rabbit 2oz Silver Proof Coin w/ Jadestone

This silver proof coin celebrates the 2023 Year of the Rabbit. The coin is the first release of a series that combines the animal symbols of the ancient Chinese zodiac with a genuine jadestone. The rabbit, the fourth element of the zodiac, represents ingenuity, vigilance and wit.

This 2023 Burundi Lunar Year of the Rabbit 25 Francs coin is considered to be in GEM Proof condition. The 2 oz. silver proof coin with a carved jadestone adornment is beautifully struck, featuring expertly finished surfaces and fantastic eye appeal. The coin is encapsulated and housed in a coordinating green presentation case.

Obverse: The obverse features the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Burundi, accompanied by the name of the issuing country, “2 OZ” and “AG 999,” along with the coin’s denomination of “25 FRANCS.” An intricate maze pattern surrounds the emblem, which shimmers with a rainbow of holographic colors.

Reverse: Two rabbits are depicted on the reverse, seated in a tranquil wilderness scene that is lush with spring foliage, a meandering stream, and low background hills. A circular jadestone, which is carved with an alert rabbit, a butterfly and a blooming branch, is centered above, between a gilded square privy mark and the Chinese character for “rabbit.” Inscribed “THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT” and “2023.”
