This beautiful 1 Oz Silver coin celebrates one of the most famous artists of all times, Caravaggio, with the representation of one of his most famous masterpieces: Medusa. The coin has a square shape, has a beautiful coloration, is Gilded and comes in a themed case, along with the Certificate of Authenticity. Limited mintage of only 500 pieces worldwide. The reverse of the coin presents a beautiful image of Medusa as painted by one of the greatest master painters of all time: Caravaggio. Although Caravaggio’s paintings were rejected after his death due to his unprecedented harsh chiaroscuro and a dark background filling the painting, he was ultimately recognized as one of the founding fathers of modern painting. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “2021” – the year of issue, “NIUE ISLAND” – the issuing country and “1 DOLLAR” – the face value.
