The lotus flower is an important symbol of many cultures and even cuisines. For example, in Korea, the lotus flower petals get dried and used for tea. The lotus roots can also be eaten as vegetables. Beyond that, the flower is also a spiritual symbol in both Hinduism and Buddhism. The reverse of the coin features a beautiful detailed and coloured Lotus, with an incredible colouration and a little dragonfly. On top of the reverse, the inscription: “LOTUS” – the name of the coin. The obverse of the coin depicts the Palau Coat of Arms and the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU”
