Sherwood Robin of the Hood 2 oz Silver Coin

Robin of the Hood is one of those characters who never go out of style. According to legend, he was an extraordinary archer and an outlaw who lived in Sherwood Forest, where he fought injustice in his own way: stealing from the rich to help the poor. More than just a thief, Robin became a symbol of rebellion, justice, and freedom. His story has endured over time because it represents something universal: the desire to stand up to the powerful when they abuse their power, and to do so with cleverness, courage, and a clear sense of what is right.

Robin of the Hood is the first issue of the Sherwood series.

It’s a pleasure to present Robin Hood 2 oz Silver Coin, the first issue in our Sherwood series.

The reverse depicts the main character of this legend, Robin of the Woods, captured mid-leap as he draws his bow, ready to shoot. The autumnal setting, with embossed golden leaves, gives it a warm and dramatic atmosphere. In front of him, a group of soldiers tries to react, but the tension is evident: Robin has the upper hand. In case something goes wrong, Robin is not alone; his companions surround him from different heights, like Little John, who is perched in a tree with bow and arrow ready to protect Robin’s rear. The composition is carefully balanced between narrative and aesthetic.

On the obverse, in the background, is depicted the symbol of Prince John’s oppression of his people: the tax collection cart, pulled by two horses and escorted by several of John’s knights, heading toward the castle visible in the distance along the winding road that cuts through Sherwood Forest. Along this route, Robin of the Hood and his companions often ambush the caravan to steal all the coins and return them to the poor villagers. In the foreground, there is a large trunk of an old tree with a “WANTED” poster offering a reward of 10,000 pounds for the capture of the outlaw Robin of the Hood, dead or alive. Also visible is a knife-carved engraving made by Robin himself, immortalizing his love for Lady Marian. Finally, the coat of arms of the Republic of Cameroon, the face value, and the year of issue.

This coin has a limited mintage of only 300 pieces worldwide.
