The Shield of Henry II de France Silver Stacker is one of the most beautiful bullion issues of 2022, a shaped medallion featuring high-relief artwork and a light antique finish.
The stacker’s obverse side features a rendition of the original artwork from the museum-displayed Shield of Henry II de France. A representation of the Battle of Cannae, thought to represent a parallel to France’s struggles against the Holy Roman Empire, is at the center, surrounded by complicated motifs and symbolism associated with the King and the office of the monarchy.
The reverse side is blank save for a reverse impression of the images on the main face, making the round easily stackable.
