The Perth Mint, in association with the island nation of Tuvalu, is very pleased to return for the third release of the highly-popular Gods of Olympus series! As the series continues, it will feature each of the original 2014 designs in all of their glory. This third release of the 2021 Tuvalu Gods of Olympus Hades 1oz Gold BU edition is truly worthy of the legacy of the original series!

In ancient Greek mythology, Hades was worshiped as the God of the Underworld and the ruler of the dead. In addition to the underworld, he ruled over any and all things beneath the Earth, and for this reason he was also known as the God of Wealth as he presided over all the precious metals that existed underground.

As a legal tender release by Tuvalu, the obverse displays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions encircling the rim include, “QUEEN ELIZABETH II . 1 oz 9999 Gold . 2021 . TUVALU . 100 DOLLARS.”

The reverse of this awesome 2021 Tuvalu Gods of Olympus Hades 1oz Gold BU coin features Hades sitting upon his ghastly underworld throne. Ceberus, his 3-headed watchdog menacingly growls at Hades’ side. Images of unquenchable flames rise behind him. The traditional “P” Perth mintmark is displayed at the left rim and the single inscription at the bottom rim displays his name, “HADES.”
