Guardian of the West
One of the Four Symbols that each guard one quarter of the heavens, the White Tiger is the legendary guardian of the West. According to traditional stories, it was destined to appear when the emperor ruled with unquestionable kindness and morality, or whenever there was peace throughout the world.
Powerful animal design
The coin portrays the White Tiger climbing among mountainous peaks. The design includes representations of Asian Maple trees with red coloured leaves. Also incorporated in the design are the Chinese characters for “white tiger”.
Antique finish
This coin has been individually ‘antiqued’ by hand to give a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an ancient artefact. As a result of this treatment, the appearance of each coin in the mintage may vary.
