Serious spy
One of the finest actors to play James Bond, Timothy Dalton worked in film, theatre, and television before starring in 1987’s The Living Daylights. His preference for gritty realism saw Bond’s cinema persona become more nuanced, aligning with what he said was Fleming’s “man of contradictions and opposites”. The actor’s darker, more cold-hearted interpretation culminated in 1989’s License to Kill, which saw Bond defy spy agency MI5 to settle a personal vendetta.
Classic pose
The coin portrays a black and white image of Timothy Dalton in a classic Bond pose. The design includes the franchise’s iconic 007 gun barrel logo, and inscriptions of Timothy Dalton’s two film titles.
