Commemorating Australia’s Most Famous UFO Mystery
The 2026 Solomon Islands Westall UFO Encounter 10 Gram Base Metal Coin Card marks the 60th anniversary of one of Australia’s most famous unexplained events. On April 6, 1966, more than 200 students, teachers, and local residents reportedly witnessed a mysterious object near Westall High School in Melbourne, Victoria. Decades later, the incident continues to captivate UFO researchers, historians, and enthusiasts around the world.
Often referred to as Australia’s most significant mass UFO sighting, the Westall encounter remains an enduring mystery. Witnesses described a silver, saucer-shaped object moving rapidly through the sky before descending toward a nearby paddock. Despite extensive discussion and investigation over the years, no definitive explanation has ever emerged.
A Striking Holographic Design
The coin’s design brings the famous encounter vividly to life. A group of schoolchildren appears in the foreground as they watch a mysterious flying saucer overhead. Historic newspaper headlines surround the scene, helping to capture the excitement and intrigue generated by the reported sighting.
The centerpiece of the design is the UFO itself, rendered with a spectacular holographic finish. As light moves across the surface, vibrant rainbow colors emerge from the saucer, creating a dramatic effect that enhances the mysterious nature of the event.
Meanwhile, the silver-toned background provides strong contrast and allows the holographic element to stand out. As a result, the coin delivers impressive visual appeal and display value.
A Unique Anniversary Collectible
Issued by the Solomon Islands, the coin carries a denomination of 50 Cents and features a Brilliant Uncirculated finish. It is struck from iron, weighs 10 grams, and measures 32 mm in diameter.
