Queen’s Beasts Lion 1 oz Silver Proof Coin – Pitcairn Islands 2026
The 2026 Queen’s Beasts Lion 1 oz Silver Proof Coin pays tribute to one of the most enduring symbols of British monarchy. Struck from 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver and measuring 38.60 mm in diameter, this elegant collectible is issued as £5 legal tender of the Pitcairn Islands. The coin honors both the historic Queen’s Beasts and the lasting legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, marking 100 years since her birth.
As part of the prestigious Queen’s Beasts Collection, this release blends royal heritage with exceptional craftsmanship. It appeals to collectors who value historical symbolism, limited mintage, and refined proof-quality silver.
The Lion of England – A Symbol of Strength and Royal Authority
The reverse features the powerful Lion of England, one of the most recognized heraldic symbols in British history. The lion represents strength, courage, and royal authority, making it a central figure in the monarchy’s identity.
This iconic beast appears prominently within the Royal Coat of Arms, symbolizing the sovereign’s role as protector of the realm. As a result, the design connects directly to Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and her enduring influence.
Inspired by the original statues displayed during the 1953 Coronation, the coin captures the grandeur and symbolism of the Queen’s Beasts. These figures also trace their origins to the heraldic creatures of Hampton Court Palace, which represented power, lineage, and loyalty during the reign of Henry VIII.
Exceptional Proof Quality and Fine Detail
This coin is struck in proof quality, which delivers mirror-like fields and sharply defined design elements. The polished surfaces enhance the contrast between the background and the intricate engraving of the lion.
In addition, the 1 oz silver format provides a balanced size that allows the design to remain detailed and visually impactful. The craftsmanship reflects the high standards expected in modern collectible coinage.
Limited Mintage of Only 500 Pieces
Rarity plays a key role in collectible appeal. Therefore, the Queen’s Beasts Lion Silver Proof Coin features a strictly limited mintage of only 500 pieces worldwide. This low mintage increases demand among collectors who focus on royal themes and exclusive releases.
Because of this limited availability, collectors often act quickly to secure their place within the series.
A Tribute to a Historic Reign
This coin not only celebrates the Queen’s Beasts but also honors the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. Her reign symbolized dedication, stability, and unity across generations. Therefore, this release serves as both a historical tribute and a collectible work of art.
