Description
The Perth Mint revived one of its most popular collectible series in 2020. From 2014 to 2015, Perth Mint issued six designs honoring the most well-known gods and goddesses from the pantheon of Greek mythology. Originally available in one metal, finish, and weight, the Gods of Olympus returned in 2020 with two metals, two weights, and two finishes available for each design, for a total of five coins per release.
On the obverse side of these 2022 Tuvalu Gods of Olympus Hera Gold Coins is a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in the fourth-generation effigy from British currency. This design was created by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998 and used on British coins through 2015. It remains in production on the coinage of various Commonwealth Nations.
The reverse face of 2022 1 oz Tuvalu Hera Gold Coins comes with an image of the Queen of Olympus. Hera is the wife of Zeus, ruler of Olympus, and is a powerful goddess in her own right. She is shown here seated on a throne with a lion to her right, a peacock to her left, and a lotus staff in her hand.
