2022 Tokelau Chronos 1/10oz Gold Proof-Like Coin

Produced by the Pressburg Mint, this coin centers on the theme of the passage and flow of time. The series launched in 2015 as a collection of silver rounds. In 2019, it transitioned to a coin series, and in 2021 became available in gold.

While many of us are familiar with the classic Homeric gods such as Zeus, Athena, and Poseidon, there are other Greek traditions that feature lesser-known deities, such as Chronos, the God of Time. In the Orphic tradition, we find Chronos working alongside a goddess named Ananke, who helps him bring order to the universe.

On the obverse of 2022 1/10 oz Chronos Gold Coins there is a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy by Ian Rank-Broadley was completed in 1998. At the time, it was only the fourth portrait of the Queen produced for coinage. Other details include a pair of clockwork designs and a stunning decorative pattern in the background. Inscribed are the words Elizabeth II, Tokelau, 2022, as well as the weight, metal type, and purity.

The reverse side of 2022 Tokelau Chronos Coins features a beautiful clock face design. The hands of the clock point to 11:55, and the numbers are shown in the Roman Numerical format. The background consists of remarkable kaleidoscopic imagery, and inscriptions include 10 Dollars, Chronos, and the atomic symbol for gold, Au.
