Inspired by the Diamond Maple Leaf Brooch

Artist Simon Ng created the reverse design. At the center sits a detailed maple leaf, inspired directly by the royal brooch. Above it appears the Royal Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II, a symbol used throughout her historic reign.

A decorative filigree flourish surrounds the central maple leaf. Within this elegant pattern, the design reveals 13 smaller maple leaves. These represent Canada’s provinces and territories.

A Centennial Tribute with Elegant Presentation

The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. This portrait appeared on Canadian coinage from 2003 to 2023. Its return on this commemorative coin honors the monarch’s long presence on Canada’s currency.

The coin measures 36.07 mm in diameter and features a serrated edge. It also carries a $1 CAD face value backed by the Government of Canada. Furthermore, each coin arrives in a black clamshell case with a black beauty box for safe storage and display.
