Description
2026 $15 Clan Animals: Bear ¾ oz Silver Coin – Royal Canadian Mint
The 2026 $15 Clan Animals: Bear Silver Coin continues the meaningful Clan Animals series from the Royal Canadian Mint. As the second release in this three-coin collection, it honors Mukwa (the Bear)—a powerful symbol of protection, healing, and wisdom within Anishinabek teachings. Through its thoughtful design and cultural storytelling, the coin reflects the deep connection between the Anishinabek people and the natural world.
Struck from ¾ oz (23.17 g) of 99.99% pure silver, the coin features a brilliant proof finish with selective color. In addition, the Royal Canadian Mint has limited the mintage to 10,000 coins worldwide. Therefore, this release offers both cultural significance and collectible appeal for silver enthusiasts.
Mukwa – Guardian and Teacher
In Anishinabek tradition, Mukwa represents care, balance, and protection. The bear watches over the community and teaches important lessons about strength and responsibility. Because Mukwa understands the rhythms of nature, it also symbolizes harmony with the land and the changing seasons.
The reverse design captures this meaning through bold shapes and natural tones. Artist Mark V. Nadjiwan created the artwork for the coin. Nadjiwan is a member of Neyaashiinigmiing Unceded First Nation near Owen Sound, Ontario. Notably, this release marks his first collaboration with the Royal Canadian Mint.
The design uses a striking red sun and blue water elements to represent the natural environment. Meanwhile, soft earth tones balance the composition. As a result, the artwork blends contemporary style with traditional symbolism.
Part of the Three-Coin Clan Animals Series
The Clan Animals series celebrates animals that hold deep meaning in Anishinabek culture. Each coin highlights a clan animal that serves as a spiritual guide and cultural teacher. Together, the three coins form a powerful tribute to these enduring traditions.
Collectors can purchase this coin individually. However, a series subscription offers an additional benefit. Subscribers receive an RCM-branded black clamshell display case designed to hold all three coins together.
Premium Silver Coin with Elegant Presentation
The coin measures 36.07 mm in diameter and features a serrated edge. The obverse displays the effigy of King Charles III, designed by Steven Rosati. It also carries a $15 CAD face value backed by the Government of Canada.
Each coin arrives in a black clamshell presentation case with a black beauty box. This packaging protects the coin while providing an attractive display.
With its limited mintage, cultural significance, and high-purity silver, the 2026 Clan Animals: Bear Silver Coin stands as a powerful continuation of this meaningful Royal Canadian Mint series.
