The 2026 $15 Clan Animals: Sandhill Crane Silver Coin introduces a meaningful new collectible from the Royal Canadian Mint. This coin begins the three-coin Clan Animals series, which honors animals central to Anishinabek identity and teachings. As the first release, it celebrates Ajijaak (the Sandhill Crane), a symbol of leadership and community guidance.

The coin contains ¾ oz (23.17 g) of 99.99% pure silver and features a proof finish with selective color. In addition, the Royal Canadian Mint limits the release to 10,000 coins worldwide. Because of this limited mintage, the coin offers strong collectible appeal for both art-focused and silver-focused collectors.

Ajijaak – Symbol of Leadership and Connection

In Anishinabek teachings, the Sandhill Crane represents leadership and communication. Its powerful call echoes across wetlands and forests. As a result, communities have long viewed the crane as a voice that brings people together.
