Description
1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin (Random Year)
Europe’s Most Famous Gold Bullion Coin
The 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin remains one of the world’s most recognized and respected gold bullion coins. Produced by the Austrian Mint, this beautiful coin combines investment-grade gold purity with a timeless musical design inspired by Austria’s rich cultural heritage.
First introduced in 1989, the Austrian Gold Philharmonic quickly became one of Europe’s best-selling gold bullion coins. The 1/10 oz version joined the series in 1991 and offered collectors and investors a more affordable way to own .9999 fine gold.
Because these coins come from random years based on available inventory, collectors may receive different dates from across the long-running Philharmonic series.
1/10 oz .9999 Fine Gold Bullion Coin
Each coin contains 1/10 troy oz of .9999 fine gold and carries a face value of 10 Euros backed by the Austrian government. In addition, the coin measures 16 mm in diameter with a thickness of 1.2 mm.
The obverse features the famous pipe organ from the Golden Hall inside Vienna’s Musikverein concert hall. Furthermore, the design includes inscriptions displaying the coin’s weight, purity, year of issue, and face value in German. Austrian Mint engraver Thomas Pesendorfer created this elegant design specifically for the Philharmonic series.
Meanwhile, the reverse showcases an arrangement of musical instruments associated with the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Collectors will find detailed images of violins, a cello, a harp, a Vienna horn, and a bassoon. The inscription “Wiener Philharmoniker” appears above the instruments.
The smooth edge and brilliant uncirculated finish give the coin a clean and refined appearance that collectors around the world continue to admire.
Random Year Gold Philharmonic Coins
These Gold Austrian Philharmonic Coins arrive in protective plastic flip packaging. Because this is a random-year listing, the specific year of issue will vary depending on current inventory availability.
The Austrian Mint introduced the Philharmonic series to celebrate Austria’s long musical tradition and the global reputation of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. As a result, the coin stands apart from many other bullion programs that focus primarily on national symbols or wildlife themes.
Collectors and investors continue to pursue the Austrian Philharmonic because of its trusted gold purity, recognizable design, and worldwide liquidity. Additionally, the fractional 1/10 oz size offers greater flexibility for both collecting and investing.
